Default yeah, i'd stick with the 450 then......

my dad is a little more experienced than me but about the same size...he had to switch to the 450 for more power. And if you were used to the power of the 250 2 stroke then i don't think you'd like moving to 250F power

Default the 250's have plenty of power. I am 5'9 160 and my 450 doesnt know I am on it.Get the 250R if you

haven't rode dirtbikes for a while. The 450r is seriously a monster. My bud just bought an 05 250R for $4000 and I rode it around. Power on demand, just a little more user-friendly. The 450 can get you into trouble fast, and I have been riding since I was 9 (now I am 31). My .02

Default It is clipped from behind the dash. It helps to be a midget to get under the dash and pop the clips

It looks worse than it is. I think I can do it in under 3 hours next time.

Default she figured she could stay home and watch me head out w/ my friends every weekend, or learn to ride.

She chose the latter, and is actually very good. She has been riding for 3 years. I started her on a CRF150 which is a small bike, but she was able to learn the mechanics without the fear of the bike getting away from her. The 250X is perfect for her now, she can even clear a few doubles on it

Default Like I said, I have been riding for 22 years, and this 450 is just a lot of bike.See if you

can ride somebody'y before you purchase one.Every year they have been out they have upped the HP and dropped the weight. My friend's 03 feels much slower than my o5.I do not know your riding level, but for novice-intermediate I would consider the 250R.

Default Will the 250 have enough to let me loaf it through streams and up creek banks and such?

How about on flat muddy patches? I really like the nimbleness of the 250 better but I'm not the typical skinny motox'er any longer and need something I can use power on demand with... similar to all the CR250 folks getting the CR500s because they became fat/lazy/whatever.

If the 250 has enough ***** to pull me out of a hole in the woods in 2nd or 3rd gear than it will be good enough I'd think. Any thoughts? Especially since you have the X? The '06 250R has a lot of the same fuelings now as the 450s so hoping its pushing a little more power than the X brother. Lemme know... this is very helpful and appreciated.

Default I'm intermediate at best, C class weekender. Grew up on CR250s(had 3 over 12yrs).

I was somewhat used to the grenades and like the more power scenario but, the 250 may be a better fit... dunno.
