Should an infant qualify for the HOV lane?

Dude, I just think HOV lanes were instituted for reasons they aren't really fully utilized for
Having kids in the car doesn't give you a legitimate pass for one.

oh come on. It's more legitimate a discussion than which chip is better.
It's not about whether fetus, embryo, etc....
That's an all together different thing, and I won't go there either.
I'm just talking about traffic patterns and just who should be using the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle). Buses are HOV. Cabs can be HOV. But a man/woman with an infant? Come on.

Well, I'll chime in at the risk of being flamed.
As with any law or rule, the 'intent' of the law should be observed. Isn't the intent of HOV lanes to encourage car pooling?

It totally defeats the purpose of the HOV lanes. So, if they didn't drive together, would the infact drive on his/her own? No, it's just stupid. What further proves it is dumb is when you see some yuppie mom using her turdburban or suxpedition to drive around her one 30 pound kid. Great use of resources, ***.
