I like 10's or 12's myself. Never heard an 8 that I really liked.

3 - JL 8W6 would rock over 2 10" but i still prefer the simplicity of 2 -10"

Default 2 10's sound better, IMHO. Plus, you can isoberically (sp) mount them. (more)

I guess you could do that with 3 speakers also, just more of a pain. Assuming good quality, I think less speakers of a bigger size sound better than more speakers of a lesser size.

Again, though, the quality has to be there.

Just my opinion..

Default 2 - 10's

The 10's are capable of going deeper, and a good cone should still be capable of maintaining a "snappy response". As for loudness...the 10's win in that respect as well.

Default Since when is the audio forum useless? You have to actually give it some time

because it's not as heavily visited as this forum.

I know. I'm very impatient today. I'm working on a custom box and needed answers.

Default What do you listen to?

It all depends on what you listen to. Lotta rap or R&B def. go with at least 10s. 10s are also good if you listen to all kinds of music. But if you just listen to rock, alt rock, classic rock, metal etc. 8s would be my choice. And i guess if your a country fan definatly go with 8s or none at all. I have 2 10" eclipse aluminum DVC and i listen to all sorts of music. So go whatever your little heart desires
