snick..snick..snick..[new gear changng sound, NOT the fellow Colorado Audi-head]....and more..
just finished the instal, adjustment and test of the new UUC Shifter!!!!
like it!
makes changing gears more of a precise science. just "blip" (or "snick") up or down. no more
"blumpity-blimpity-blumpity" [OK, i wasn't THAT bad!!] no effort problems, either. i LUBED the whole assembly real good!
THANKS to ALL who contribute info on this "operation".
it isn't difficult, and you DO need dexterity, and there are some tweaks you need and can do to make it work for you.
one thing i will add:
put the white grease (that comes with it) on the pivot bushing and "tuning fork" plates, and be liberal all over the ball&socket.
shifts SMOOTH and precise and SHORT.
BTW: the MTM/Nuespeed suspension went in Friday.
it WAS an Excellent investment, too.
played on some COOL local canyons with S4tuart on Saturday. we drove each others car, too. a BUNCH of FUN!!!
the car rides just as smooth as before, but with almost NO body roll. QUICK, precise controlled handling, AND has better response to throttle on/off/on mid-corner.
to whoever wrote about the way the car feels under hard braking: some of the "wandering" IS the tires. MUCH of it has to do with soft springs. the car gives a much better feel for what IS going on, now.
met my goals!

What is the Neuspeed/MTM suspension - is it just springs, or is it a shock replacement too?

this was a combination of the Neuspeed 19mm rear anti-sway bar, and MTM Eibach springs.....
shocks were not replaced. the damping rates on these OEM peices are pretty good.

Hi James... didn't get the chip. decided on chassis mods first. PLUS .......
... want to see how the chip/TBB/warranty issues shakes out over some time. can live with the stock power. especially since i can now use it more liberally!
and, yes, got the springs and rear anti-sway bar installed at Champagne on S. Broadway.
R U making the RMAC run this Sunday???!!!
