Default so this friend of mine tried to tell me some BS about how you can use 87 octane

he's buying a porsche and the guy who he's buying it from was tellin him that you can use 87 octane and that you have to add a "can" of something. he wasn't sure what it was,but some additive or something along those lines. i told i would not buy the car from this guy if he did that to his car; it seems like a horrible idea. he was saying that you can achieve higher octane gas by mixing a few parts of something with mostly 87....that just sounds crazy, because the refinery determines the octane, you can't just dilute it to a higher one....if you want 100 octane gas, you go buy it...there isn't something you can add to increase your feul quality, is there?

Default Toulene will raise your octane

but why start with 87?

If he's adding octane booster...that's just a super waste of.....everything.

Theoretically, you could. Toulene is ~114 octane and Xylene is ~116 octane.....or so I've been told.
