Default So how many things can I "T" into my FPR hose anyway??

Before things start getting weird. I have my boost gauge T'd in and I would like to T in my water injection pressure controller as well. That should be about it. I wouldn't think there would be noticable lag but I'm not into pneumatics. All are just looking for a change in pressure so no pressure is being lost other than the pressure diverted to the tube. Any thoughts??

Default Trick question.. the answer is ZERO.

You really *shouldn't* T anything into your FPR and should T your boost gauge up to the hose connected to your DV's or the N249.

Why? Everyone uses FPR line for boost gauge

Default so do I.. it's just not the *best* place to tap.

Playing with fuel pressure isn't the best idea although done safely, it shouldn't cause any problems which is why most do it this way.

Default Yeah I would prefer not to T into that hose at all but...

I want an accurate reading as close to what the fuel supply sees for my controller. I think I might move my boost gauge someplace else and use the fpr tap I already have for my water controller. How accurate is tapping into a bpv or the n249 going to be for a boost gauge?

Default I didn't :)

Only works on 2000s, though I'm sure there has to be a spot somewhere on 2001+s other than the FPR or DV lines.

Default just as accurate as the fpr, imo.

and you get the added bonus of *knowing* you aren't fvcking with the fuel pressure b/c lean = bad mmmmmmkay.

Default Re: Why? Everyone uses FPR line for boost gauge

The instructions that come from VDO say to cut the line between the FPR and the manifold. I've seen a lot of pictures of people going off the other line from the manifold to the diverter valve.
To me, it makes sense NOT to go from the FPR, but why would VDO say that in their instructions if it wasn't the safest way to do it?

I'm not an expert, but... my two cents...

Default it's not particulary unsafe...

it's just not the safest way to hook it up. Which is why most, including myself, have it hooked up to the FPR. It's fine as long as you check the connections every now and then to make sure they aren't leaking.
