Default So I've got an interesting noise under high boost

So I'm not sure what to be expecting here...

So I drove the car around for a bit, didn't find any codes. There's definitely some additional inlet/turbo noise. Got on it in second gear and watched the boost gauge wrap itself somewhere past 25, heard some pinging, what sounded like the dentist drill after it passed 20psi and lifted immediately. Hmm. That was wierd.

I drove it around a bit more, get on it, and there was some additional pinging, but not as bad as the first time, and it went away so I stayed in it. There was no dentist drill noise this time although the boost was lower, around 24, and then tapered off. When I let off there was a very quick loud squeal, like a blowoff valve. Hmm... 710n's going bad?

The noise seems to be coming from the driver's side, and only when the boost jumps over 20 psi. And it's intermittent at that.

A/F seems to hover around 10.7-10.8:1 through the rev range.

Any thoughts as to what I should check?

edit: It seems like a BPV is gone south, but the turbo noise thing worries me.

Default I had my KO4s put in this week as well. They def. sound louder than stock, I thought

I heard what sounded like a dentist drill, I think it's just their spool up.

Yeah, I've heard some loud turbos in my day and it just wasn't a noise I've heard before

what kind of software setup are you running that you're boosting to 24psi?

Default any idea why it went past 25psi? A boost leak could cause you some abnormal noises above

a certain psi.

Default That's what I was thinking... The whole system pressure tested @ 15psi

It never went past 25 psi after that first time. I think I'm going to go pick up some new 710n's just in case.

Default Yeah, tell me about it... I don't want to get on it again until I can figure it out

We are going to install the fueling and ECU on my friend's K04 (stock software) car and see if it makes the same noise.

Default Try 20psi. I pressure test at around 22psi.

I used to do 10psi, but couldn't find the problem... upped the pressure and there it was
