How much overlap is there from the steel gasket? It won't be ideal but it would work...
those ports are plenty big - maybe mill the gasket down slightly, to the ridge perhaps. That should keep it sealed.
Or, get ASP or Vast to cut you some 5mm resin spacers and have them o ringed around the ports, each side. A lot of trouble but they would match and provide heat isolation. A thought.
