i've used Amsoil 0w30 forever.. thinking about switching up, lots of valvetrain noise

Default You should switch up. Amsoil 0w30 does not meet VW 502

even with their "newer" specs that claim to meet VW 502.

The series 2000 0w30 only has an HTHS of 3.4 whereas 502 requires a minimum of 3.5.

Default If you like the Amsoil(I do), try the 5w40 Euro oil they sell. I swapped to it last year

and its a pretty good oil, doesn't clatter like the 0w30 Amsoil or 0w40 M1 and exceeds the new sheer recommendations from VW(the 0w30 no longer meets this, M1 barely makes the cut). Its cheaper too.

I've looked everywhere for the GCas 0w30 and Autozone had it here for about a month(they no longer sell it in this region for some reason). Would still like to try that oil at some point although with ~60K now 0w30 would probably be a little too thin.
