I am trying to track down a noise in my car...thought for sure in rear diff, now not sure. I get a growly/whine at 40 to 60mph. Will not change as i turn car sharply left to right...but does go away if car unloads over a "rise" in the road. I though bearings would go silent as I turn to unload the bad side. Maybe Both making noise???

the hum from an electric generator, or an electric bar-heater. A metallic medium-low-pitched buzz, and not particularly loud. Mine weren't affected by cornering.
