so is it wrong to try to convence my GF to buy a new white VW jetta?
ive been seeing these commercials of the white jettas.. they look good to me... do i need to cut my wrists?

Not if you think it is in her best interests! Bottom line, she NEEDS to be happy and want it or ....
she will be forever bitter about it.
It's a big investment for people. Imagine if someone tried to convince you to buy something other than you wanted.
