And thats from a design and performance standpoint. All cars are projects to those of us who like to tweak.. its fun. You REALLY need to get laid man. Nothing but negativity from you. I don't care if you don't like it or don't understand it, just please..shut the hell up.

Let's see. Audi puts together the interior, exterior and engine. It's fairly well designed from the factory. The aftermarket vendors have done the same.
Let's say you want to modify the car. You are not performing any panel beating. The RS4 conversions or any other body modifications up to now involve tacking on PRE-DESIGNED cars SPECIFICALLY made for this car. In the car exterior world, a true project would be mating body panels from various sources together and have them work to make a truly custom car making it truly one of a kind.
To me a project car is when the car is down to bare metal and you mix and match and come up with your own style.
And about the mechanical and electrical components. They are off the shelf, as well, made to mate up with the car. Now if you were dropping in a Chevy big block or some Mercedes powerplant and make it work with the other components in that car, yes, it'd be a project, and a hell of a one at that.
If I buy all the RS4 parts and tack it on, it does not make my car a project car. Sorry. There's nothing to invent here and no originality; in fact, a lack thereof.
And, it has nothing to do with being the first either. It's just either that person has sources available to him or her that others don't and in some respect, and in some respects available cashflow.
I gotta question for you. What did YOU tweak on the car? That is, of course, if you call tweaking, a project.

I buy a bunch of stuff that's meant for an A4/S4 in this case, and drop it off at a reputable body/audio shop. I sign the check over and get the car back, all shiny and "done up".
Is this what's building a nice car is? Please explain. Building a nice car could POSSIBLY be to be under strict budget constraints, but I don't find it difficult to pick out the best stuff and go get it installed.
I want to understand this mindset. It could be just a generational gap as a LOT of young kids are doing this to their cars. Almost as if they are 'keeping up with the joneses'.
