Last night father had the unique opportunity to have Pete Schoomaker in his home for several hours..those of you who don't know Pete need to undersatnd he is the recently retired CINC of US Special Operations the one of the world's acknowledged authorities on terrorism.

Here's Pete"s take in a nutshell....
......years of inattention and lack of understanding have allowed our enemy to organize and grow strong.
......he and his people are smart, well organized and totally dedicated.
......they operate a near textbook perfect terrorist operation which, in addition to the above, is highly decentralized
......they are committed to doing anything to destroy us
......they operate today in scores of countries
......they have already tried use weapons of mass destruction within our borders; they have no qualms about trying again
......we have long had evidence there were "sleeper" cells within our borders. is it possible all those cells were activated Tuesday? "Yes"...is it probable? "No"
......would they love to have a quick followup to further show their ability to strike? "Yes"
......cruise missle attacks which give us cause to slap one another on the back and marvel at their great accuracy and our technological superiority mean nothing...this week they returned to us their version of the cruise missle and while not technologically superior it was infinitely successful
......this is a war, a world war which cannot be won without international cooperation. That cooperation will not come until others believe we are committed to winning no matter the time frame and cost
.....it took years to get where we are today and it will take years to address the problem...the costs will be high and will include failures tallied in lives; but there is no alternative as targets within our borders are innumberable and too easily attacked to even begin imagining defending each of them
.....the average American's duty is to realize we are at war, support the effort and make the economy work rather than withdrawing into a shell

For years our policies alway have stopped short of doing what was right. We trained that Bin Laden fruitcake to fight Russians, We have supported dictatorships because it was cheaper. We have allowed the blundering U.N to accept our responsibilities.
Well, we have paid the price.

Let's quit crying about it and cowboy up. Enough of this back door claudstine crap that one will admit to. Post the list of terrorists, terrorist organizations and countries that host or support them, then eliminate them.
What are those words of wisdom... talk softly and carry a big stick.
