Default Internal piping on stock manifolds is slip fit for a reason.

In other words it supposed to rattle when you shake it.

Default I'm talking about a physically broken runner inside...rattling metal-on-metal. I had a set of RS6

turbos and the associated manifolds - one manifold with a broken runner at the head flange (you can physically see it) matched the turbos turbine wheel with a huge chip

Default Re: impossible ! " These will contain heat much better then the stockers"= FALSE .

The stock manifolds are horrible in just about every aspect.. I'm not going to debate this with you because your "impossible" statement is absolutely ridiculous, especially when the stock piece is third rate at best...

Default I don't know... these look pretty nice to me...

Of note are the heat shields, double walls which allow for thermal expansion and contraction, and the nature of the smooth laminar flow that is facilitated by this plumbing...

I like 'em!

Default since this is "your" product, I think it is up to you to prove otherwise honestly

and lemieux statement was obviously with regards to heat retention ONLY.

You made the statement, so tell us how it's "Impossible".. First we have 2 different style manifolds, the stocker is a log style with no collector. I put heat in the first runner furthest from the collector for a sold 2 minutes then measured the inside and outside temp just now.. Stocker inside temp was 398 the outside temp was 198, the inside temp on mine was 563 and the outside temp was 181.. Just a very rough test I understand...

Default Re: stock manis are pretty ok imho.

Pretty good for what? What are you comparing it to? 3 .035 wall pipes with no collector and a piece of sheet medal is a good manifold? I had this manifold flowed, very very poor.

Default Ultimately, the proof is in the pudding...

...I look forward to the experience of actually driving a GenX equipped car soon.

Actual comparison will allow people to choose based upon experiential preference rather than theory.

Default Re: and yes it's easy now ..ASP did all the homework R&D ..PROOVED the gt-s

The setups are nothing the same except they both go on the b5 s4... Theres really not one thing thats the same... I never had them in my mind for 1 second when this kit was made... It's fair to say they came up with the first kit which made others explore further options

Default Re: Put some heat cycles on those bad boys and get back to me. :) I'm also interested...

I did have the stockers flowed and they did horrible. Do this take a simple air nozzle and put 100psi or even 30 psi in any runner and see if the same amount of pressure doesn't come back out the other 2 runners... Do this same test to mine and theres no air coming from the other 2 runners at all.. Theres zero doubt if everything was setup the same my manifolds would spool the turbos sooner and make more hp.. No thought went into the stock log style manis, but make this stuff fit...
