One of my bulbs died today. Not sure if the bulb, ballast, or both is/are shot. My bulbs and ballasts are both 4-5 years old and I would expect that bulb failure is more common than ballast failure.
Either way, I have a spare ballast being stored at my parents if that is the case.
But I would love to find a set of used bulbs here rather than pick some random ones up on ebay.

Yeah those bulbs are totally nuts. 100 bar operating pressure @ 800-1000C.
Haven't decided if its fortunate or unfortunate but it's the ballast that died. I have a spare, but don't know if its any good. Came from a wrecked car... and I got it for free somehow.
Think I over aggresivly washed my car and water damaged the ballast?

I noticed a very small amount of condensation on the interior plastic, so that was probably it. Had to wash off ABC fire extinguisher material since my car was down wind...
I'll have to stick it in the oven and see if it can be fixed, but I imagine the 20kV starter would have caused some "fun" to happen internally.
Gotta love the S4, for every 150$ part you replace there is a 300$ part with its finger on the trigger.

yeah, you could see with mine that the failure mode was condensation + high voltage arcing.
I'm pretty sure I've already exceeded the MSRP by a factor of 2 with maintenance and mods. ugh.

Did you go with the DDM 55W kit? If so what did you think about it? If my spare ballast is dead I think its time to upgrade and finally align the **** things right.
I saw a post a while back asking if they were a real company.

Uh, well... it took them a week to ship the order... and then one of the ballasts was DOA. I immediately sent the RMA in, so I am waiting for a replacement..
And yes, did the 55 watt kit. One of my lights looks good... haha

And that kit is the (CHEAP!) 115$ and comes with ballasts and bulbs?
If I hadn't seen those installed pics, I would have assumed they were those kits to make illegal HIDs people always sell on ebay. HID bulbs resocketed and such.
What brand bulb came with that kit?
