Some tire questions

I purchased my car with 1,200 'Audi executive' miles on it (of course with a nice discount)about 500 miles later, I replaced the wheels and tires with snows, and then a set of SSR comps.
So these tires, in theory, only have 1700-1800 miles on them, but to me they look like they have been through the ringer... In you opinions, what is wrong with the sidewall (on all four tires):
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/30287/tire1.jpg">
And how many miles do you think are on the tread (% wise):
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/30287/tire2.jpg">
And what is a reasonable price for these tires and rims (assuming a few scratches on the rims that were there when I brought it.)
I think they may have switched out the rims with another cars older wheels, does this sound likely?

can be from low tire inflation, or A LOT of hard cornering. Generally fun marks include swirly scratches too, so I'm voting on insufficient air pressure.
BTW: those tires appear to have a hell of a lot more than 1800 miles on them. Probably closer to 18,000. I would say you have 5K-10K left on them if you treat them well.

usually my underinflation swwirly marks go higher up the edge, but I didn't really use these tires much, so I could be unfamiliar with the telltale signs on these.

2K miles of "lets see how this thing CORNERS" will do that to a set of tires too.
I do think that's a lot of wear for only 2K miles of even hard driving though (unless it was track, not likely) Those stock tires WERE crap however.

and I was religous about tire inflation pressure, so it wasn't that, and I don't track the car. I just attributed it to Pirelli manufacturing. I dumped my P6000s at about 15k miles. Two flats and the tires were starting to crack. The S03s are night and day better than the P6000s anyway.

no, these tires were abused and ran way too low pressure. DO NOT PUT THEM BACK ON! If you run them hard with the correct pressure on them, you will see some more wear on the outside flanks on both front tires, but not on the back. If all four look the way you have shown, they are dead.
