Default Somethinge very awful happened to a WRX i was running today....

We started from a roll on a long, slightly curvy road near BB&N (for those of u who are in MA). I was slightly ahead of him. Just after i hit third, I heard a godawful wrenching sound come from the WRX and he pulled over. When I drove back by to see if he needed any help or a ride, there was a bit of smoke coming from under the hooda and it made ridiculously bad noises when he tried to start it up. Poor WRX guy.

Default Hmm... my best friend is suffering the same fate with his WRX. So far, new clutch, flywheel...

shift linkage, turbo, and a few non-engine-related items. It is, in fact, at the dealer having the turbo once again looked at and it seems that some of the studs holding the turbo to the manifold are indeed cracked.
And while all this may make Subaru reliability seem lackluster, my other best friend has 3x the mileage on his with ZERO problems. Both WRX's are completely stock and always have been. To tell you the truth, the one with ZERO problems is driven WAY more agressively than the other.
