Sorry RS6...

Next-gen A6 is supposed to be ASF I think...
...I'll happily take an S6 version of it, in say 2007, when my S4 is no longer my daily driver. Figure the two will probably weigh the same and the S6 will have a lot more room.

Not that much.
New E500 weighs about 240 lbs less than an RS6. I'd wager the E55 AMG won't weigh in much lighter than that, and I wouldn't be surprised if it got a bit heavier.
IMHO the obsession with the curb weight of sport luxury sedans is kind of futile.

So what classifies "World's Fastest Production Sedan"? since that's what the RS6 is claiming as well
how does one determine "fastest"? Obviously "most powerful" is clearer. But, fastest to 60mph? Fastest to 1/4mi? what? Also, if it's just plain faster to every mark, well that's quite clear - but what if one is faster to 60mph, the other faster to 1/4mi, one accelerates faster from 30-70, the other faster from 60-100. So do you think one will back down in their marketing? or will they both claim it for different reasons? etc

Re:"World's Fastest Production Sedan"?
I think that's just MB's marketing hype. The only way to tell is by running the cars against each other. I'll happily volunteer to do it!

I disagree
The MB doesn't have it beat on all the numbers.
Regardless, they both look like fantastic vehicles. I'd probably go for the RS6, since I'm loath to give up quattro. Otherwise, at that level, I don't think the judgment lends itself to black and white. If you can burn that much money, pick the one you want, or buy both!
Of course, the MB will probably retain its value better, but the Audi will be much rarer.. but then again, if you've got the money, who cares?
