Default Sort of long. OK, driving home on Thanksgiving, I had been cruising around 80 for 2 hours , then I

take the ramp to my exit, drop down to 2nd, hit the gas and I hear what may be the start of the dentist drill. I have 65K miles, stock chip, but now I have a weird sound coming from passenger side turbo. At low rpm's, I can hear what I think is the shaft clanking or vibrating. Does this sound right? The sound at high rpm's isn't a high pitch yet, but it is definitely something new. I have no loss in boost yet. How long do I have left until I have to replace the turbos? Since I prefer reliability, not most hp, which turbos should I go with, K04's or a K03 hybrid? And who wants to replace them?

Default go with the ko3 hybrid. Ko4s need new piping and everything. Ko3 hybrids will give you the

reliability youre looking for for less money than KO4s.

Default I assume I can run the stock chip with no problem. But if I decide to chip later, would I have to

change the fueling?

Default Jacob can answer all these questions for you (Imolavirus). Here are what i believe are correct

answers to your questions. Yes, you can run them with stock ECU. You will have to upgrade feuling when youre chipped, possibly when stock. Not sure though. :/

Default Go with the K04"s

I would go with the Ko4's and if you need someone to replace them let me know and we'll see what we can work out. Good luck

Default "K03's go bye, bye" - don't forget to go to the confessional

And don't forget to replace the usual culprits : TBB, BPV, IC clamps, IC's

https://forums.audiworld.com/27tv6/msgs/83.phtml</a

Default I would say about 1 to 2 week or about less then 300 miles..

your symptom sound exactly like my when my second set of turbo went. yes it will give you full boost with no white smoke, but after a week and half it decide to go south. You may get a way with it alot longer if you stay out of boost...

Default I dunno, I put my stock chip back in and put 8K on the car. Then found a torn tbb . . .

while pulling the engine to do "blown" turbos.

Default My car survived multiple track events with that sound.

So... you never know.
