Many of you know I've been trying to use spark plug non-foulers on my piggie's instead of relocating the 02 bungs.
The mod calls for 2 non-foulers stacked on top of each other with the top fouler drilled out and the bottom fouler left alone. B/c of a miscommunication w/ my installer, I've been driving around w/ the bottom fouler drilled out only and alas, I was getting cat efficiency codes, failing my readiness readings, seeing a semi-frequent cel and getting hesitation I could not put my finger on.
Well, I'm happy to say that I got the other foulers put on last night, reset my codes and have yet to see a cel, cat efficiency codes, my car doesn't have the slight hesitation anymore and I PASSED all my readiness blocks so emissions shouldn't be a problem now.
Please note that I've only tested these for about 30 miles so I can't say for certain that they definitely work but I will give you updates after more testing is completed.
The pics are not from an S4 but you get the point.

Drill out 1 of the foulers with a 1/2" drill bit. This one will go on top.

The 02 sensor is out of the exhaust stream so it won't trigger the cat efficiency codes. This should also work for those running test pipes.

For the past week I was getting them occasionally while logging or extended drives but that was when I was only using 1 instead of the recommended 2 stacked.
I was also getting cat efficiency codes and failing Readiness constantly. I would trigger these codes as soon as my car warmed up to operating temperatures.

Gutting the precats is a very labor intensive process and very hazordous to your health. You do not want to take a chance breathing in that dust cause you can seriously fvck yourself up permanently.
The only reason I didn't was b/c my stock dp's were fubar'd from hitting road debris so I didn't have a core to supply and my installer didn't have a welding machine so I had to think of other options for relocating the 02's. Just play it safe and get them from Vast.
