I was wondering if this is the right sensor to replace for the problem. I tookt the belly pan off my car and drove it in the rain, then left it in the rain over night. Now it speedometer was jumping all over and the gas guage seems to be way off. Ive been searching the archives and the VSS came up. Any other ideas or solutions to the problem? TIA!!

I had the same problem. It will go away when it dries or you can replace/repair.
I suggest repair. I ordered my new sensor from PureMS.

It is a piece that just needs soldering. I had a shop do mine it was only like 30bucks or so but I printed off the write up and gave it to them.
Also on top of the trans is the sensor that seends speed to the odometer. I am pretty sure they are not related at all it looks like your car sat too long in the MN winter and might have made those things go bad.
How is it running and are you back in MN now?
Good luck dude.

Yeah the car sat for 2 months when i went k04, I only drove it for like a month, then it sat again for another 2 months when I was traveling. It seems like all the sudden the speedometer started acting funny, then the gas gauge was all over the place. So I drove it home and let it sit, then all the sudden everything started to work fine. I'm gonna see how long it stays like this. Yes, im back in Minnesota, still 35degrees here, almost may~!
