It was my first experience on the track and it was damn fun. I was a more tentative than I thought I would be at first, but after a few laps I really felt how fun those formula Dodges can be. Fast enough for me - about 100 on the front straight - feels much faster with the low height and ridiculous (compared to a road car) vibrations of the car. I was still a little uncomfortable with the full braking that is required at the end of the straight into turn one (too much time spent on the road trying to be gentle/smooth I guess).
I would have liked a little more instruction between sessions, there was basically none. I guess I need the 3-day course for that. I also plan on a car control course - I think that would make me more comfortable at the limits - skid control etc.
Also, It was humbling to know that the instructors pacing us were using stock neons - and I know I couldn't have passed them even if I wanted to. It showed just how much I have to learn. Overall, it was a blast and the hook is definitely set - I want more.
Afterwards, I went to my parents house and gave the S4 its summer wash/wax and detail - the winter (not to mention NYC garages and curbs) were harsh. It still looks great but is not as new anymore - oh well.
Overall, the best Thursday I have had in a while. It breaks the week up nicely too. Have a great weekend.

100mph doesn't SOUND impressive to people who drive fast street cars but carrying that speed up to 100 feet before the turn without hesitation, and doing it in traffic on a relatively narrow race track is a WHOLE different deal than in a straight line down a wide open highway.
The other thing people don't relize is even though the straightaway speeds may not sound "impressive", you barely slow down anywhere. In our last race in the Civic, with the car overheating and us just trying to finish, I had alot of time driving 8/10ths and was watching the speedo somewhat. Even at that pace, the SLOWEST I EVER went was 75 and even though I never broke 110 on any straight, most of the turns were taken between 85-90.
Post pictures if ya got em!

It was amazing...Your reactions are virtually the same that I had...
Though on day three we were coming out of the downhill at full throttle and probably reaching 120-130mph on the end of the front straight....
With the vibrations that you mention, at that speed it was hard just to focus on where to brake before turn 1 ...etc...
It definately gives you a real appreciation/respect for speed and car control.
-Unmodified?

going 100mph with your *** a couple of inches off the ground in an open cockpit car, threshold braking into a turn is not the same as going 100mph on i95 in a 4 door and taking an exit ramp at speed...
