Sports package 'aluminum' dash trim, I don't have one to look at, is it actual aluminum

Any lower and it would look bad.
Also, I do have the aluminum trim, I just didn't have a chance to go outside last night and feel it to see whether it was real or more a faux finish.
Just another idea I have up my sleeve.

Not the best picture of it but this is the trim with the rubber stuff sanded off and clear coated. Look at the passenger door and you can see the "brushed" effect and the lack of checker board look of the factory trim.
