Default It was not too bad.....

I used 220 grit sandpaper on a power sander to mow down the texterd stuff.

I tried chemicals but it did not work well.

After I got the gunk off I wet sanded with higher and higher grit paper all in 1 direction until I got the specific brushed look I wanted.

Each step of the sandpaper. 220-280-330-400grit will smooth the surface and make smaller and smaller "brushing". Couple of hours of work but not bad.

I actually used A4 trim since it was easier to get a hold of. The A4 trim is dark grey and the S4 is the silver aluminum look. Same stuff though.

One of the local A4 guys wanted my Burlwood so we traded straight up. FWIW Our Burlwood looks AWESOME in a light grey A4 interior. MUCH MUCH better than it looks in the black S4 interior.

Default That was temporary. I had misplaced my windshield mounting bracket.

It usually sits next to the rear view mirror.
