Default SPP A-pillar boost gauge experiences?

Was looking at the SPP A-pillar bost gauge package .... some questions for anyone with any experience with these:

1. They now offer an 'OEM fabric' for $85 extra. Does it really match the interior (S4) perfectly? I have seen their standard fabric and it does not match well at all, IMO. How is the overall fit & finish of the unit?

2. Does the lighting on the VDO boost gauge included match the S4 interior lighting? Can the brightness be adjusted?

3. Does the pod block the airflow & function the side window defroster vents?

This is a pretty expensive piece, so I wanted do get some feedback before abusing the credit card (again).....

Thanks!

Default Re: SPP A-pillar boost gauge experiences?

I have the SPP a-pillar, and an Omori gauge from AWE. I have the "near match" fabric, which is an EXTREMELY close match to OEM fabric. It was a bit of a hassle to put in, but I kept at it and it was installed in probably 20-25 minutes.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the look and feel of my SPP pillar.

Default Just got one...

OEM fabric matches well... under normal lighting you can't tell the difference, although the pattern of the fabric is slightly different. Whether it's worth $85, well that's another story... for the price of the pod, it should probably be included in the cost.

There are no issues with the dash board vent.

I opted to go with the 60mm Omori electrical gauge cause not only does it match the S4 interior "perfect," but also gives you the "boost warning" and "peak record" features.

The whole package was around $600. Definitely not "cheap," but I'm happy with the end results.

Default I'll second that...

Same setup with Omori and am very happy. The fabric is not perfect, but unless you know exactly what you're looking for you cannot tell at all. Even though I know it's different I have to look at it carefully in the right light to tell it's different.

Default Voila'. But they used to do these in "real" OEM when I did mine.

Not sure what exactly they have now(9mos later). My fabric matches exactly FWIW... and I upgraded to an Omori 60MM electronic.
