Default Squeaks and rattles

Just wondering if anyone out there has annoing squeaks and rattles in thier S4 like i do. I only have 5K miles and my right side doors squeak ( sounds like rubbing against the weather stripping). The rattle is from the passenger seat belt clip opn the seat, hold the button down and it goes away. SO post if you had similar problems and got them taken care of. I'm still trying to figure out out to get the change out form under my seat short of taking out the seat!

Default here’s my theory about that.

I also have the problem. I live in So. Cal. and have noticed on both my S4 and wife’s A4 that the door seals rattle...when the temperature is above 80!

If you listen when it is cold, the seals are fine. I think the compound of the rubber gets too soft in higher temperatures and doesn’t resist compression enough to prevent the rattling.

Once again,I don’t think Hans was thinking of hot climates when he designed this car.

Gee, I didn't want to post about that for fear of being called crazy .

Yes, in my case it seems to be coming from the plastic/wood-like trim on the door; squeaks when the car hits a rut. I just noticed it on the driver side until someone of not inconsiderable weight sat in the passenger seat, when it started to squeak like crazy on that side as well. Did a test and it DOESN'T happen with the window down. It also seems to be temperature-sensitive (though I can't recall which way right now).

My attitude is to not overreact to every little problem: I'm going to wait until I bring it in for its first maintenance (@5000) or for, heaven forbid, something really important to see if it is still bothering me. Then I'll ask the dealer politely if he knows about it and can fix it.

It really depends on what you're expecting: I basically made a deal with myself that if the car didn't overheat, the turbos didn't go, the electrics didn't kick out leaving me stranded, then I'd forget about the minor squeaks and rattles .

My soonroof has a rattle. I suspect "loose sticker syndrome" that someone has posted about earlier.

I also have a rattle right next to my left ear, have no idea what this is caused by. Happens from time to time. Currently suspecting plastic on adjustable shoulder strap for the seatbelt.

Just noticed last night that the seat travels/tilts when breaking to a stop and also when accelerating from a stop. It's not a lot, but it's noticable.

I had the same problem with the front doors on my car. If you would press on the top rear corner of the window frame, you would hear a squeaking sound. I had the car in at my local dealer early this week and asked them to adjust the door striker bolt to fix the problem. They said the striker bolts were in as far as they would go. They put some silicon on the door seals and the squeak is gone.

I also have a rattle in the passenger side rear seat that I have not been able to locate or fix. Good luck.

Default I realize that. I am saying they get SOFT and cause the rattle...

I know it’s not scientific but the car is absolutely quiet when it’s cold and a rattle trap when it’s hot so it’s my best guess 8-)

Thanks for the input, i hope this car doesnt become a rattle box, yes its fun, but for 40K come on!I just got rid of my rattle box for this car! ( 97 pontiac ram air auto TA 13.8 1/4 mi.) It just so happened to be 50 degrees out when the door rattle on the S4 became downright unbearable! GOing in for first service tommorow. Plus my car still pulls to the right after the dealer realigned it. They put different wheels and tires on and it tracked straight. They tell me it's those damm potenzas!

Same door squeek problem here. Was it silicone spray stuff that they put on the rubber?
