Default Stätus Ring GT Carbon Seats review (long)...

The first thing I have to point out with a racing seat is the difference it makes on (and off) the race track while performance driving. This is probably the single most improvement for anyone to advance their skills. As well as the side bolsters to secure you in position when experiencing lateral force, there are a couple other advantages.
The first other advantage is seating position. Our cars position you too close to the roof of the car and in most cases a helmet will rub with a person 6ft or taller. These seats are fully adjustable with different seating positions to accomodate the preferred position.
Secondly, the seats provide a better interface to feel your car and how it responds to your inputs. Less cushion (although extremely comfortable) give you more feedback through your backside.

Now...to comment on the STATUS RING GT Seats...
They are fantastic. The GT's are a nice width as the other one's run on the narrow side. I have a 32 waist but athletic quads tend to take up some room. I did want other's to be able to feel comfortable also and these fit perfect.
The finish of the Ring's was excellent. Alcantara was sewn together perfectly, carbon 2x2 twill weave looked amazing, super lightweight, and the brackets were CNC'd to a dialed fit.
These seats are so worth every penny. I have been in many other big brand seats and these have exceeded my expectations.
Lastly, they are comfortable! Driving 3 hours from New Jersey to Annapolis (note: I slept in them for an hour when I got home because of a 3am drive back from ASP), then 5 hours to VIR gave me some "seat" time. Except for the confined nature of the bolsters, I would have to argue that they are more comfortable and supportive then the stockers. Really!
I spoke to Josh to compliment him on the seats and he mentioned that they have a good stock of Ring GT FRP's and Ring GT Carbons.
So, if you are an aggressive street driver, weekend track warrior, or club racer...consider a set of the Status Ring GT's and you won't be disappointed!

Default Love the review and looks great. I have a few questions...

Do you think the alcantara brings the look or feel of the interior down at all? Also I have been wanting these seats for a while now but I have the light interior. I think it might look weird with dark seats(I would probably get leather), does anyone have pictures of dark racing seats in a light interior?

Default I can vouche for these seats (I have Laguna Seca's, though almost identical to Ring). I've done many

5+ hours trips nonstop and they have been great. Only issue is many "unathletic" passengers have trouble getting in and out of the seats because of how high the side bolsters are. Perfect for me, since I'm about a 31 waist and agile :-)

oh and just to be a bit picky, the *** cusion could use a bit more.

Default Sounds tempting but I don't think I would get the carbon fiber

Doesn't seem worth all the extra money for a few pounds to me, granted they do look baller as hell.
