Default Stage 3 B5 S4 vs M5

I'm debating buying an 01 S4 and upgrading it to Stage 3 vs a bone stock 01 M5 ... How are the stage 3 kits working out so far with reliability?

I'm in houston, tx so with the hot and humid weather will the stage 3 s4 be slower with the weather vs the M5?

Default if you're worried about reliability go with the M5...although stage 3 S4s "can" be made faster.

and generally are.

Cars have attributes other than just straight line speed. Which car do you like better?

Default Just get the M5, unless you plan on racing a lot or tracking the car a lot

The M5 is perfect for daily driving, utmost luxury and PLENTY of power. It's decent on the track and great on the street.

Comparing the S4 to the M5 is like comparing apples and oranges. For sheer comfort and performance without having to worry about much the M5 is the way to go.

If you want speed and comfort, but a big step down from the M5, get the S4.

Default Even in this heat, you'll only be slower if you're heatsoaked...

...if you're out on the highway, you'll be faster.

Default M5 (luxury int., not sport) is much more luxurious and comfortable than the S4. No question. The

interior is ALL leather and suede. The pillars, the dash, the headliner (suede), everything and anything you can think of is hand stitched leather. It is rubber if you get the sport interior, so dont see why you wouldnt go with the lux.
But anyway, it is rwd vs. quattro, and it obviously doesnt have the feeling of boost. So it is personal preference. Also, if you decide to do mods to the M5, phew... you thought S4 mods were expensive. Considering the fact that youll be in Texas heat, i would say M5. The heat has a huge effect on our cars.
Stg3 S4 is definetly faster than the M5 though. But, the M5 has it all. Luxury, performance, handling, etc. Both incredible cars, M5 has my vote under these circumstances.

I'd say M5, but you can feel the dimensions of the M5 when you drive it.

Depends what you are looking for. If you want more potential: Stage 3 if you want a bigger car: M5.

I would go with the S4 stage 3 the M5 doesnt feel that fast but it looks good and has more space than an S4.
