I have really been contemplating lately going from 2+ to stage 3. I am looking for more low end grunt as opposed to all top end because this is still my daily driver. Reliability is my absolute biggest concern even if I sacrifice a few horses for it. I really want the apr fueling but how does awe compare to it? These seem to be the 2 I am stuck on. I see the used kits usually sell for around $800. What would you guys recommend and why?

The fact is that APR is completely outdated in the are of B5 tuning, AWE is a bit more modern but still behind the curve. From the two only the AWE makes any sense and with their fueling kits floating around for quite cheap, it is a good deal.

APR & AWE are both respectable options. There are other choices available from ASP and EPL and probably some others, and all the setups have different strengths.
You need to ask some specific questions about the different setups otherwise you'll get worthless feedback based upon opinions generated from assumptions.
I had the APR kit for several years and was very pleased with it.

Well I guess I am most interested in low to mid range and reliability. I rarely go above 5,000 rpms so I would like to be able to enjoy the stage 3 power everyday and not have to worry about tinkering with it all the time. All info is definately appreciated...

Well, if you rarely go above 5k then why would you even do Stage 3... Whole point of stage 3 is above 5k power. For low-medium power the stage 3- would work too....
