First of all, a big thanks to Hal (Hal_S4Shizzle) and Alex@Stasis for the guidance and advice!

This took around 3 hours to complete on jackstands...knock an hour off that with a lift.
<b>Tools Needed</b>
- 4 Jackstands or a lift
- 6 pack of your cloice
- Metric sockets & ratchet: 10mm, 13mm, 13mm deep socket, 15mm
- Metric Hex bit: 6mm, 10mm
- Torx bit: T40
- Socket extensions
- Torque wrench
- Breaker bar (optional)
- Fill tube or funnel for trans fluid refill
- 1 liter of your current trans fluid
- Oil spil collection tub
- Oil pen for marking
- Rubber Mallet

<b>Install</b>
1. Open beer, take a sip.
2. Elevate the front of the car on even clean surface, by placing on stands or on a lift.
3. Disconnect or remove the cat-back exhaust system using 13mm sockets for the hangers and a 15mm for the dp sleeves.

4. Sip beer.
5. Remove the heat shield for the propshaft CV using the 10mm socket.
<img src="http://mnaudi.com/mymnaudi/images/1216/IMG_3199.jpg">
6. Disconnect propshaft and let hang. But first you need to remove the shaft guide located at the middle joint of the shaft using the 13mm socket. Make sure to mark the braces location before you remove it to ensure that it's properly aligned when you reinstall it. Otherwise you make get some vibration and propshaft bearing wear. Remove the propshaft bolts using the 6mm Hex bit.
<img src="http://mnaudi.com/mymnaudi/images/1216/IMG_3206.jpg">
7. Remove the 2 bottom Torx T40 bolts for the case cover to fully expose the end of the transmission case, end cover. Then remove the remaining 4 Torx bolts to release the end cover of the transmission.

8. Slide cover off and watch for about 1/2 a liter of tranny fluid dribbling in your eyes, catch pan is nice to have around. You may need to twist the end cover or hit it gently with a rubber mallet to break it loose. The back of your transmission will now be exposed.
<img src="http://mnaudi.com/mymnaudi/images/1216/IMG_3208.jpg">
9. Slide the Torsen out and push the downpipes apart at the flex joints to get it out. The Torsen may try to come with end cover, lightly tap apart.

10. Sip more beer and post on AW that you're master of the torsen install...
11. Reverse procedure.
12. Never install a dry differential. Put some tranny fluid into a tub and smother the new 4:1 diff. Twist it a little to give everything a nice coat of oil and to prevent galling.
13. When putting the Torsen in make sure it's seated, you'll feel it pop in and engage.
14. Reinstall the transmission end cap and torque bolts to 25nm.
15. Reinstall the propshaft and torque the bolts tight/snuggly (i don't have the spec). You can use some locktite if desired, do not over tighten these. Realign the propshaft guide using the marks you made earlier...right?!?
16. More beer.
17. Reinstall the heat shields.
18. Check fluid level. I simply ran my car while still up on the jackstands (not recommended) and then filled the tranny fluid up to the appropriate level. You could also drive it around the block. Factory says 7mm below the fill hole(with the rear sump full - the driving part). You do not want to overfill.
19. Reinstall your exhaust.
20. Recheck the fluid level later if you wish. Drive to nearest tittay bar to celebrate.
Congratulations - Enjoy your new rear bias torsen differential!

1) there are not any gaskets to replace
2) per stasis explaination:
Tuning the center differential provides one of the most significant performance gains available to the Quattro owner. The standard torsen center differential in the S4 and A4 provides a 2:1 torque distribution capability. This enables the end of the car with traction (generally the rear) to deliver twice the torque being delivered by the least tractive end of the vehicle (generally the front). For high performance street cars, we recommend a bias ratio of 4:1. This is the same bias ratio that Audi has provided in the stock RS4 driveline.
Torsen Differentials deliver more torque to the wheels that have more traction. The STaSIS high bias torsen provides a dramatic improvement in negotiating a turn quickly and efficiently. Now your car can be 3 cars in one( front, all and rear wheel drive):
Hard braking leading into a turn
Car acts like a front wheel drive - torsen acts like an open differential when its not under power. Wheels turn independently and car control is improved.
Mid Corner, Throttle On
Car acts like an all wheel drive- torsen delivers equal amounts of power to front and rear wheels. This maximizes grip, allowing more power to be applied at this stage of a turn.
Corner Exit, Hard Acceleration
Car acts like a rear wheel drive car - front wheel slip is rediced because the torsen delivers up to 88% of the engine torque to the rear wheels where the most traction is.
3) yes but only when turning, not in a straight line
