Default Stasis Track Sport advice/affirmation needed regarding spring rates.

I've STFA and my plan of going with a 500/500 combo seems to make sense. The roads here in W. PA suck *** so I can't get too aggressive. Even my 450/450 H&R Streets are too harsh sometimes. Therefore, the 500/500 Track Sports seem like a good way to go. Yes? I plan on tracking the car 3-4 times this year...

TIA

Default If you're out by philly...drop me a line.

500/600 seems like a good starting point on this car. I'll admit, on bad roads the ride certainly isn't plush, but the Koni's do a great job of soaking up the bad stuff. I LOVE the 100 lb spring rate differential on the track or in the twisties. I really wouldn't want to give that up...and if I did, I would just get a set of street sports and pocket the money.

Default Why switch then?

Though, I would love to hear from you after the switch if you thought it was worth it.

Default Blown right rear H&R coil.

I plan on keeping the car for 4-5 more years so I don't feel like buying a new H&R coil now only to have another one go in the future. Me likes the Stasis lifetime warranty.

Then go with 500/550 at least, take the advantage of custom springs and get that rear stiffer.

Default Thanks for the knowledge.

I'm still considering the 500/600 combo so maybe I need to take a road trip to Philly. It would be nice to nail the right combo right off the bat instead of swapping out springs.

Default you can't compare a KONI and a BILSTEIN with regards to spring rate...

...what makes your H&R setup "harsh" isn't the 450lb. spring, it's the Bilstein damper.

What will make your STaSIS Track Sport's NOT harsh at 600lb. spring is the KONI damper.

I would not run less than 600lb. in an S4 with the Track Sport kit unless you have already tried it. Also, run more rear spring. So I'd run at least 600/650.

IMO of course...

Default Good points. I think I'll start with the 500/600 and see how it feels.

I really need to focus on my reason for ditching the H&R's (longevity) and be prepared to switch springs if I want to be happy over the next 4-5 years. Start with 500/600 and go from there.
