Default Stasis Tracksport owners a few questions ....

I am looking to purchase the tracksport setup. Reading through the archives, it seems that this is one of the better coilover kits on the market offering both comfort as well as suspension performance improvement.

My question relates to the choice of spring rate and valving. I am more interested in ride comfort than anything else, as I will probably only track the car once a year, if at all.

It seems the recommended spring rate is 600/700 and touring valving for a more comfortable ride. Am I correct in assuming sport valving gives a harsher ride? Any feedback on if I need to go lower on the spring rate. I noticed on their web site that Stasis goes as low as 450/550.

TIA for any feedback.

I have 600/600 with swaybar at firm. Good ride and not too harsh. Probably don't need sway bar.

I have Tracksports with the sport valving with 700/800 lb springs. Im in SoCal and there are some junk roads here, and I think it is very comfortable. My girlfriend has a stock S4 and we both think that my car rides better then the stock S. It it very compliant on rough roads, and it is not too harsh. I want to bump up the spring rates to maybe 800/1000.

Default 500/600 with touring valving...

Where I drive, the roads tend to be pretty good. I'm happy with the spring rates for 99% street driving. No inkling to add more spring rate. Tons of fun in the twisties too!

You are correct, sport valving will result in a decrease in ride quality.

Default I'm in Toronto.

Roads in the city are crap. Highways aren't all that bad.

Default audi blackbird is nuts thinking 700/800 with sport valving is appropriate for bad roads. i have

that setup and would not want to regularly drive them on poor roads. I think RKA is dead on with what I would recommend for you. When Raj chose his, he went in buying with similar needs. I would stay in that region of spring rates.

Default 600/700 with sport valving in colorado, I don't think its too harsh.

Although touring valving will probably soften it up if that is a concern for you.
