Stock S4 Brakes with Falken GRBs: 1, Everyone Else: 0...
...the stock S4 brakes are still pretty decent for a stop or two. I was on the 605 South today (just before the 60 interchange, 5 lanes wide) traveling with the flow of traffic at ~70mph. All of a sudden, I see the cars beside me dip forward (slamming their brakes) I slam on my brakes immediately there after and as I look to the horizon, all the cars in front are stopped or in the process of stopping...this is gonna be close...
...in the fast lane is a stock E39 535i, I'm in the #2 lane, #3 lane: Acura RSX, # 4 Toyota Camry, #5 (Slow Lane/Merging Lane): BMW 330ci...
...all the cars hit their brakes before I did, yet I stopped anywhere between 10'-50' before they did.
It was amazing to see those cars fly by in those split seconds. Luckily no one got into an accident but it was close.
We all know the stock brakes are teh suck for the track but for a few panic stops, on good summer tires, they still perform admirably. :-)

we all know that. Even the best aftermarket brakes isn't much better
than or stock brakes.
I've done heavy braking with snow tires and it sure feels a little hairy as the tires skid and loses traction.

I do exactly the same thing everytime I hit my brakes hard
The fact that I was looking in my rearview when this guy rear-ended me last tuesday probably saved me quite a bit of damage because I had just enough time to get my foot off the brake and the gas it (snowy out so I just spun, but the car was moving forward slightly none-the-less). There are so many dumb-a$$ drivers around here, I'm more worried about them hitting me rather than me hitting them :-/

Disagree. I think a some to many here do not know this. I've talked to a few that think...
...getting aftermarket brakes will significantly reduce braking distance...
...boy did I prove one person wrong. He wouldn't believe it until we actually did a test. :-P

I'm surprised that of the lighter cars (almost all of them), none beat you...
I would have thought the RSX and 330i would have done a better job at braking. But I guess it depends a lot on rubber too.
