Default for street driving. Stoptech don't feel like it stops shorter...

but after doing repeated test the braking distance of aftermarket/performance brake kits is better.

Default Of course aftermarket brakes perform better for repeated use, that's why people get them...

Is that a valid comparison? Shouldn't tire size/quality be considered?

Figure it's as valid as comparing 0-60 from mag times, tires, weather, phase of moon all matter.

Default Agreed. I think tires probably play a HUGE role...

And it's hard to tell which tires are used on these tests. Some cars come with crappy stock tires while others have fairly decent ones.

I always thought that since most stock brakes on any car can cause the wheels to lock that the brakes are not the "weakest link" in being able to provide stopping power (for a one-time thing, I'm not talking about fade over several stops). Instead, I thought it's the friction between the tire and the road in addition to the amount of mass (car weight) that needs to be brought to a stop that determines stopping distance. I could be wrong.
