Default Straight pipe or aftermarket exhaust?

Do I spend $500+ on a good cat-back system or do I pay a local muffler shop $50 to put a straight pipe on my stock exhaust? It seems that alot of people do the straight pipe thing with the Borla exhaust anyway, so why not just save a couple hundred bucks and use it for other upgrades? Will straight piping the stock exhaust yield similar results as an aftermarket system? Or should I save my pennies and pony up for the aftermarket?

Default Get the borla, THEN "straight pipe" it.......

The stock exhaust doesn't have enough flow in the first place.
