Please check out this link to a video I took of my car last week when I first started it in the morning. For the last 2-3 weeks now, it has been making this noise when I start it; typically after the car has been driven for 1-2 miles the sound simply goes away (sometimes it even goes away as soon as the idle stabilizes).
However, recently the sound has been getting worse. This morning I drove the car and it made the noise for more than 5 miles of driving. After eating breakfast I got back in the car and it was making the same noise again, much less intense however.
Some more information that is important to note:
-my car is @ 55,000 miles (so pretty close to my 60k service where I will do TB)
-the noise seems linked to my power steering...when I turn the wheel the sound intensifies then dies down when the wheels are straight
-the car is typically parked outside overnight. When it is in the garage and started up, the noise goes away quickly. When it is outside and started up in the morning, it typically takes slightly longer to go away. When the car is started up in the afternoon after work, it does not make any noise...
Please let me know what you think is going on and help me diagnose this problem!<ul><li><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk01cqJ0CoA">YouTube Video</a></li></ul>

belt of completely and start the car. if it still makes noise then you know it's behind the covers and it's one of your pulleys behind there. if it does go away, like i said it could be the tensioner pulley bearing gone bad or other possible pulleys like p/s, a/c etc. get a long screw driver or any skinny type rod and put it on the surface arear where you think the noise is coming from and put the other end to your ear and see if where you hear the vibration loudest.

If it makes you feel any better, and you have some laying around, you could spray some Meguirs rubber&vinyl cleaner/conditioner on the belt as it goes around. I recently cleaned my engine bay and afterwards I hit mine with a good spray of that. I would NOT use Armor All or anything like that, only a good rubber conditioner. I wouldn't hesitate to use Lexol leather conditioner, for that matter...
