Default StreetSports still not feeling right?

I've had them for about a month and have put ~700 miles and at first they were very bouncy...they have now settled and while they are a huge improvement over stock for looks/performance...However, I have to say I'm a bit disasspointed as to how bouncy they are. I drove a friends car (w/ Streetsports) prior to ordering thm and his didn't seem nearly as bouncy as mine are but maybe I didn't drive long enough.

Overall they seem to be ok its just when I hit large bumps/dip it seems to take a few oscillations until they settle. I'm going to try and test out a friends car to see if mine is different however I'm worried that the shocks weren't set properly from Stasis. I totally forgot to check that before installing them. Is there any way to test this out without removing the shock. They seemed very stiff and we had a very hard time extending the shock when installing the springs.

I wasn't looking for ballz to the wall handling since I enjoy a comfortable ride but the bounciness was not something I was prepared for. This has seemed to get a bit better over the past though.

Should I bite the bullet and pull the shocks out to check the damping settings?

Is this normal..thoughts?

Default if it's been a month, I'd pull them and reset the rebound. But...

...that being said, unless you took your friends car on teh same stretch of road as your own, the comparison is only so good.

The KONI Twin-Tube has some goods and bads, and in the S4, one of the bads is its recovery over dips at speed. You can adjust some of this, but it's pretty much always there.

I've driven on KONI twin-tube setups that do this really bad, and some that do this moderately bad, and some that do it on occasion. It's down to settings and location. But through and through, most all KONI twin tubes in an S4 have the propensity to do it.

Now by KONI twin tube, I'm talking an 82XX series KONI on an S4.

I mention this becuase you could spend the time to pull the dampers only to find out that they are adjusted right as they should be. Something to bear in mind.

Lastly, anyone that has KONI dampers I recommend they slot the rear housings so they can adjust rear rebound without pulling the dampers.

Of course, YMMV...

Default I didn't think the Streetsports were adjustable on the car like the Tracksports.

You said to slot the rear housings, and I thought that was Tracksports only. I know that the fronts have to come off to adjust.

Default Ryan, is this what you mean by slotting the rears on the Street Sports...I slotted the housing...

prior to installation, but have not messed with the settings.

'nobodeuno' what ride height are you at right now? Would this have anything to do with the bounciness that you've described?

Mine are pretty comfortable right now so I've not messed with them. Guess my feelings will change if I ever get a chance to ride in O.o.et.o.O's car with the Track Sports.

Default Ride Height is at 25.5" Front 25.625" Rear

I may try to drive a friends to see if his react any different. Its not horrible its just not what I expected.

Thanks for the information!

Mine is exactly opposite of yours: 25.625" (f) and 25.5" (r). Good luck.

Default Hmmm...maybe I'll try your height...I thought Stasis recommended front lower than rear?

Thx!

Default I may be completely off on this, so better wait to hear what RyanS4 has to say about this matter.

It may just be a subjective type of thing. Good luck regardless.

Default So the tracksports are 82XX series dampers?

I'm well past the point of believing I'll actually get these "dialed in". If I tweak it, it might behave better in one way, but worse in another. I've backed the fronts down to 0.25 turns from full soft. Anymore and I'm going to get some pronounced bouncing on the front end. The rears are 4.5 turns from full soft, and they have a bit of bounce to them on more exaggerated dips. I think I'd feel better if someone told me "you're never going to get them to be 'perfect'" that way I could stop screwing with them.
