Default Stuck 2nd gear after hard track day... what is the possible cause?

I just got back from an Audi Club track day (Bremerton, WA).

During my last run, I grinded the 2nd gear through the chicane, and after I pulled into the pit, I couldn't get it out of 2nd gear! When pushing it down to go into 1st, it would go down like ur trying to go into rear!

It took a while to get out of 2nd gear and it's been HARD to disengage from 2nd from that point on. It is a bit better and I could drive home fine, just sometimes struggled to shift up or down from 2nd, other gears are fine. Funny thing is, when in idle, the gears shift a lot better, but it get stuck when u drive for a bit.

What could it be? Pls give me good news that it's not a costly problem!

You need a new transmission. Call Stasis.

You damaged your synchro for 1st and 2nd. Repair isn't cheap.

Missing a gear. That grinding sound hopefully you never get a chance to hear.

Default It could fix itself. Mine did.

After a similar experience, mine got better from normal driving. Took a couple weeks. That was 60k miles ago, and it's been fine since.

Obviously, it depends on what really happened in there; good luck!

Default correct! I screwed up going from 3rd to 2nd, partyly because of the DAMN LONG shifting, it sucks...

as this was my last track day of THE YEAR!

I was gonna get the short shifter and do a few upgrades to make the car shift better, as shifting DAMN TOO LONG for tracking.

I will wait to see if I GET LUCKY, like "dano-oly" but from what I am hearing that chances are slim!

Here goes my Christmas shopping and some more!

Default Mine fixed itself too. Just keep driving it - it will get better as the burrs wear off the splines.

Then after a couple weeks, change the tranny fluid to get rid of the metal bits. Mine is good as new now - about two months since a SERIOUS grind action where I had to push HARD to get it either in oir out of 1st and 2nd. Good luck.
