Default Sunroof cover -- what are the holes in the plastic grab piece for?

It allows just a little bit of light to shine through - anyone know the logic behind this?

If you mean the slits then it's so air can exit the cabin if you have the sunroof in vent mode.

Default Having lived in Arizona thru

several summers, I can tell you they're there to allow some ventilation between the glass and the inside of the car. Without that, these covers have a tendency to melt and buckle very quickly.
