Hello.....
This is Patrick.
I've got a 2000 S4 and the sunroof switch is starting to act up.....some times the actual sunroof will open further (while already open 1/2" way or so) and then close--not all the way, but a "back & forth" style for about 3" of travel.
Not all the time, but it's happened a few times. Also, it seems as thought it has some "dead spots" where I put the **** in a given position, and it does nothing. (I think two to be exact) Now I know when you close the sunroof with the outside door lock, the sunroof switch has to be put back into the "closed position" before you can open the sunroof up again. But this is not the cause...I assume it's the switch acting up....
For those that know anything about this or has any experience with this, I'd like to ask you a few questions:
What did a replacement switch cost?
How hard was it to install a new switch?
How long does it take?
Any tips or tricks that you could share with me on how to properly take that portion of the S4 apart?
Thanks for your time in this request....
Best regards,
Patrick

It turned out to be the switch was bad.
Basically, the roof wouldn't (some of the time)open apon first request....if I "reset it" back to where teh actually roof was, it'd work the second time.
They replaced the switch. I think it's pretty easy. Ive had that portion apart before, andI don't thkink it's too hard.
