I was looking today and think I could actually afford one down here. anyone had experience with it?

Research carefully, if you have a friend in realestate or
a lawyer experienced with property check with them. U in cali? Make sure you check with cali lawyers and realestat brokers, cali has all kinds of screwed up laws. Do your homework u should be fine. If its gonna cost ya a few bucks to do it, think of what you can get back from saving on a home. If ya do it blind you could be in for a world of head aches.

If you can deal with the stress, go for it.
We have some friends that have been trying to purchase a forclosed house for a few months now. They are constantly getting tortured by one bank or another over it, and it now looks like the deal won't close.
