Default Suspension Install question...

How do you get the shock fork on the front shock circled in the picture below (thanks Mark P for the picture) off the lower control arm (without removing the upright)?

I attempted a suspension install yesterday but was unable to get the stock shock up and off of the lower control arm. Gave up after 2 1/2 hours and bolted the stock shock back up.

Default I applied some weight on the rotor/caliper...

That gave it enough play to get the shock off the lower mount.

What if you unbolt the Xenon leveler, looks like the lower arm will drop (from the pic)

Default Its a lot easier to just remove the bolt from the upper links, so the control arm can drop...

once you drop the links at the top, then remove the bolts from the engine compartment, and then removing the shock and spring is very easy. Just becareful when loosening the top bolt of the shock, as its wound pretty good, so it, and the top of the shock plate(lack of word) can fly and take your hand with it, if you're not careful. Spring compressor's are great ;-)

Tried that... I stood on the caliper. Still not enough play.

In addition to everything else that's been said, compress the springs.
