Suspension issues

I'm having an embarassing squeak in the front passenger wheel everytime I hit rough road, took in and they told me they'll need to take apart the "strut" I beleive, quoted me around 2.5 hours labor to get it fixed. They recommended I go ahead and put on some new shocks since it will be apart anyway. I beleive all the suspension stuff is stock at 90k miles. Apparently I have ride height issues, judge and comment please, I'm utterly clueless.

It looks pretty good as it, but if you must replace the strut, get a new suspension.
You can usually find a used coilover suspension for uner a grand. You shouldn't pay more than $200 to have them installed and they will be adjustable while on the car. I have H&R springs with Bilstein shocks on my A4 and they have been great. You can buy that setup new from Neuspeed for not too much and they will be adjustable (if you have spring copmpressors). It's a very good alternative to a more expensive coilover setup. But ther are lots of options. Suspension is the best single upgrade next to a chip as far as bang for the buck. It completely changes your car.

my oem front springs and shocks were like that from day one with the car.............
to my surprise, the new coil overs are as quiet as a church mouse. hope the neuspeed 19mm rear anti-sway bar isn't going to be as squeeky as people here have reported.
