Which suspension will give me the best ride-comfort/handling performance ratio?

correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like you're saying a non-adjustable kit would please more people than a non-adjusted adjustable kit.
in another words, i mean, by default, each kit should set certain standards. if kit A is not adjustable, and it gives an average satisfaction rating of 70% say, then i would expect kit B that is adjustable (and costs more even) to have an avg satisfaction rating of 75% by default. after it has been adjusted, then 80%,85%, or whatever more.
that is the idea that i have. but it seems like you're saying my expectation of 75% is unreasonable. that i may end up with a satisfaction level of 65% and after adjusting, end up with maybe 72%.
hehe. well, you get the idea. i hope.

First off, set your adjustments to +3 sweeps rear rebound, and +1/4 turn front. All settings are from full MIN.
Report back as to what it feels like at that point, and I can tell you what to change first. But while resetting the rebound, make note of where each corner was set to (important).
If you turn the rear spring perch all the way down till it stops turning, you will be WAY lower then where you are at.
Did the installer remove the upper rubber spring retainer when installing the STaSIS aluminum upper perch? That's my best guess as to why you are about 1.5" off.

Refer to picture, #2 should NOT be on you car anymore. It will be replaced entirely by a black aluminum "puck" with a white plastic like liner inside.

... where it "should" be.
there is a very small sweet spot where agressive dampers (like the ones in the tracksports) are happy with (relatively) high spring rates compared to stock.
i understand what you are saying - you would think there is a uniform "setting" which is a catch-all, but in this case, it just doesn't work that way.

i was told the upper rubber was removed & replaced by the supplied rubber isolator.
is there an easy way i could check myself?<ul><li><a href="http://bagodoosh.home.comcast.net/s4/stasis_rl2.jpg">driver side</a></li></ul>

1) is the front spring 10" in length, and the rear 8" in length (with car off the ground)? If so, move on, if not, the springs are on backwards.
2) Ok, the springs are on right. With the car off the ground, can you easily move the rear spring inside the upper (puck) perch? If not, it might be binding or just not sitting in there right and as a result, not seating in all the way (this is a stretch)? The spring should move with relative ease, especially with no load on it which, with the perch as low as you have it, and if the spring is 8" and 700lbs., it should move around quite easily.
3) I'm pretty lost at this point as to what's cuasing the issue, something is not adding up.

rear spring about 8", front about 10".
with no load, i can take the rear springs and slide them up and down. it has about 1" (or more) of play.
also, as suggested by josh@achtuning (regarding the spring not seating correctly), i jacked up the car and turned the springs for them to click into position. they didn't click, but they seem to be seated properly.
the only thing i can think of is that i counted 6 turns (coils) of the spring before it dissapears into the upper perch. where as on a similar car (with stiffer springs) i counted 5. so, maybe that upper rubber thing is not removed.
thank your for the help thus far. i'm puzzled as well. the rear assembly doesn't seem too complex. so i don't know.

...do this:
With the rear unloaded, push the spring into the upper spring perch (so up) and turn it. It should turn easily and reach the top without much drama. If this is the case, and the rate is indeed 700lbs. and it's indeed 8" in free length, and the lower perch is indeed turned all the way till it stops (with the set screw OUT), I can only deduce that something entirely differnet is going on.
What size wheel/tires do you have?
