Swapped the TG shifter out for stock today...

After driving on the TG shifter for 9 months and 6 adjustments, it was as good as it's ever gonna get. And after driving a friend's S4 with stock shifter yesterday, I decided to swap mine back to stock today to see how I like it.
Well I have to say stock is smoother and requires way less effort, which was one thing that has always bugged me. I now find myself able to shifter FASTER due to the lower effort despite the longer throws. I guess I was always wrestling with the TG SS, didn't want to slam into gears and kill the syncros.
Has anyone have the same revelation? Or am I just plain weird?? ;-)

TG short shifter was my first mod to my 6-speed S4. I can't imagine driving without it. The stock
shifter felt so loose I was very unsure of shifting with it. the TG makes shifting very persice and I feel comfortable that I will never miss. As far as how well it shifts, I have never had any problems getting the car into reverse or any other gears. I have driven cars with UUC shifter and it plain sucks. is it possible you got a defective TG shifter?

I think I prefer stock too. The short shifter is nice, but I think I can better feel just how hard
the tranny wants to be shifted with a stock shifter.
The short shifter ruins that feel for me.
[edit] I have a toyguy shifter installed in my car currently. I'm just too lazy to uninstall it

It was my first mod too...
I don't think mine TG SS is defective, I looked at it today when's it out, look normal to me. I suppose it's personal preference.
I went though a similar experience with my ex-A4 ('01.5 1.8T). I had Strat SS first, too short and notchy, didn't like it (despite tons of positive reviews at the time). I then bought a UUC SS and loved it, the throws are longer but much smoother and less effort, kinda like what's happening with my S4 shifter.
