Default Sway bar (I think)?

Did the 2001 S4 come stock with a rear sway bar? I was trying to clean my wheels today and noticed this "bar" that was kind of molded around the two rear tires. I assume this is a rear sway bar. I bought the car used so I'm wondering if the car comes stock with it or it was but on by the prior owner. It only looks like there is about one inch of travel before the tire would rub on the sway bar. Should the travel be this limited or does the sway bar do some sort of swivel when the shocks/springs compress?

Default yes it comes with a sway bar, but molded around the rear tires? don't know what you mean

by that.

If you are seeing that in the wheel well, that is not the sway bar...might be a control arm or tie rods or something.

Sway bar can be see from underneath the car.
