Default sounds odd...but if it's true, it may be because it's not coming up to temp as quickly...somebody...

correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think all of a sudden switching to that is going to change the pitch of your turbos because of a tad bit heavier oil.

Maybe it's just in your head.

Default Yes, I noticed that too...

In fact, I switched to 0w40 syn mobil 1 for my 32k service (performed at 30k), and my turbo(s) blew one month later at 32k miles. Coincidence? This is the recent turbo failure btw, the repair is being performed next week.

Default 0w is 0w, only it's high temp viscoisty is different

0w40 is not heavier than 0w30.

it is just less likely, to thin out under track or summertime oil temps

Default I think, if you switched from shell to chevron, you'd blow a turbo

you simply have extremely bad luck with S4's

0w30 to 0w40, is defintely completely incidental to your turbo failure

Default

isn't the 0 just the apparent weight though?...and the 40 would indicate what you just said, right?

You bore me with your watery oil It may also depend on the manufacture.
