Default do yourself a favor and don't use the plastic contact ring on the throwout bearing

I would upgrade to the throwout bearing with a metal contact ring sold by 034..

"Clutch Throw Out Bearing, Metal, Audi 01A/01E $55.00

Metal faced clutch throw out bearing for 01A and 01E applications, Sachs now only offers a plastic faced unit that doesn't hold up to high clamping forces and heat of high performance clutches."<ul><li><a href="http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=543">http://www.034motorsport.com/product_info.php?products_id=543</a></li></ul>

Well, it's not plastic, it's graphite... I never had problems with it.

Default most people haven't but a few have had it crack apart and jamb up in the pressure plate

The metal version isn't that expensive so why not?
