Is there any reason why a larger MAF is needed for Stage 3 at high altitude?

You want to keep your airflow in a certain range. At the very least, I'd suggest keeping it over 200 g/s. Ideally, you'd want it in the same range as you'd be wih a chipped K03 car since you are using a chipped K03 program. If it were me, I'd go to 83mm MAF housing mated to stock airbox with stock filter. That should get your readings up to ~220 or so most likely.

That's why I still stick with my recommendation of 83mm MAF with stock airbox modified to mate up wit hit. That way, g/s will still be in a decent range at that elevation (225ish at least I'd assume), yet he has plenty of headroo for more boost, denser air, etc.
