Default Is there a way to code a new remote without 2 keys?
I just bought a new remote off ebay and I want to code it so that it works with my car. The only problem is that I don't have a spare key. When I bought the car used the guy only had one key for it.

I don't know how to do it though. All I know is that my remote managed to reprogram itself after I replaced the batteries in November.

Default Are the remotes supposed to reprogram themselves?
After I changed the batteries, the remote stopped working. I've been too lazy to reprogram it, so I've just been using the key since November. About a week ago the remote suddenly started working again.

Is that supposed to happen?

but i think if you unlock/lock the door with it(using the key, not the button), it gets programmed... or something like that...

lexus GS totally beats us...
